Success Story of Paddy Farmer-Telangana Sona (RNR 15048)

Paddy is the world's most important food crop in the world. Due to increased irrigation projects in Telangana, the gross sown area of paddy increased from 43.42 per cent in 2014-15, to 76 per cent in 2020-21. An attempt was made in this to study the economics and profitability of Telangana Sona (RNR 15048) variety of paddy crop in Laxmipur village of Jagtial district. The study revealed that cultivation of this variety is beneficial to the farmers. The cost of cultivation of paddy crop was observed to be Rs 36572.20 per acre. Whereas, gross returns and net returns were observed to be Rs 62560.00 and Rs 25987.80 per acre respectively.
