Agriculture plays a significant role in India's economy, but farmers face numerous challenges such as lack of awareness, market uncertainties, unpredictable weather and lack of information. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Udalguri district, Assam, India, promotes the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in agriculture to overcome these challenges. The district covers an area of 2012 square kilometers, with a predominantly rural population engaged in crop cultivation. The KVK has developed various ICT tools, including mobile applications, online training programs, a website and SMS advisories to disseminate agricultural information to farmers. These tools have helped farmers increase crop yields, manage pests and diseases, and access market information. The KVK's efforts have proved to be valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic by assisting farmers with the sale of their produce and providing digital literature and advisories through electronic means. The KVK's role in ICT has been a game-changer for farmers, providing them with timely access to scientific information, recent updates, and other resources to enhance their livelihoods.
